Matt Anderson is a Director, Producer, Director of Photography, Filmmaker and multi-media creative based in Washington, DC. He is known for his forward thinking approach to filmmaking and cutting edge use of technology.

He began his career at the age of 15 working as a cameraman with his father’s video production company in Oakland, CA. Some of the productions early on featured former First Lady Nancy Reagan, The Isley Brothers, The Pointer Sisters and Congressman Ronald Dellums. At 18, he headed to Washington, DC to major in Broadcast Production at Howard University’s School of Communications. At Howard, he took an interest in radio and hosted a music driven show on student run WHBC-AM. Within a few years, the legendary Donnie Simpson hired him as an on-air personality at WKYS-FM. There he interviewed some of the music industry’s top artists including George Clinton, Tupac Shakur, and Stevie Wonder. It was during this season that he tapped into his entrepreneurial spirit and started his first media business Matt Anderson Enterprises which provided live sound and DJ services for high profile events including the Congressional Black Caucus Annual Legislative  Weekend.

n 1996, he became the production director for Radio One’s four Baltimore stations. In 1999, he headed back to DC to serve as Program Director and afternoon drive host of upstart CBS Radio property WPGC-AM Heaven 1580. Within two years, Matt helped establish Heaven 1580 as one of the top 5 Gospel radio station in America. In 2001, Matt launched Missing Peace Productions, a full service video and audio production company. More of Matt’s pioneering efforts in Gospel radio included creating the weekend Gospel music show on Salem Communications’ WAVA-FM and serving as the first Program Director of the first FM Gospel format-ted station in Washington, DC WPRS-FM Praise 104.1. Matt went on to serve as a producer for all of the talk channels on SiriusXM Satellite Radio which included CNN, NASCAR, The Oprah Winfrey Network and Major League Baseball Network.

Matt says, “It’s been my steady and unique growth as a media creative that has been most rewarding. From shooting community and political projects as a teen, to hosting radio programs, to producing TV commercials and programs, and now the endeavor to produce original family-friendly scripted films and documentaries, it’s been a long and fruitful journey.”

Matt’s combination of candor and expertise as well as his commitment to family friendly programming have made him highly sought after as a consultant for ministries and businesses. He currently resides in the Washington, DC area.
